I also use GedView ( http://www.intronvaria.com/GedView.html ), which is strictly a Gedcom file view/print program. Apparently, it treats the first person on the file as the "root" person.

Thanks to both of you. I was trained in German 50+ years ago, didn't use it much until i started working on genealogy. Every bit of help is greatly appreciated.

Have a question. I maintain my tree online, in Ancestry.com, then download it as GEDcom file, then open with Ahnenblatt. On Ancestry, my son is designated as "root" or "home" entry, but when i open the GED file, a distant cousin always appears first. Have tried changing the "...
