Creating a table with ancestors and descendants of a married couple + collateral relatives: Which settings?

Beitrag von zainalarae »

Hi everyone,

I need some help creating a table. I'm sure many of you have more practice with this than I do.

The centerpiece should be a married couple (one of my great-grandparents), and from there I'd like to depict all of their ancestors and descendants. The hourglass is probably the right choice for this. However, in my attempts I haven't been able to include the ancestors of both

spouses in the table. I would also like to add collateral relatives to the table, i.e. siblings of the ancestors, possibly their spouses, and perhaps also descendant generations. I'll experiment a bit with the size, feel it out, and see when the limit of what can still be printed is reached. Ahnenblatt tells me at some point that the output is too large and the PDF needs to be reduced. I don't think printing to a readable size will then work anymore. I always got this message with the "Kinship Chart" variants, but they also included people who weren't among the described blood relatives (ancestors of people by marriage, etc.). So I probably have to make some settings that I haven't figured out yet. I've already tested various settings under "Options," but without the desired result.

Attached a screenshot of my settings.
Instead of choosing one of the couple (husband/wife), choose one of their children as start person.
